MANILA, Philippines. Despite the fact that Ella Fajardo is thousands of miles away, she stressed that she will always ask for a flag and a country.
Fajardo promised to commit Fairleigh Dickinson University (FDU), a U.S. NCAA Division 1 school in New Jersey, will not be prevented from applying to Gil Pilipin Women.
“And for sure, as soon as Coach Pat needs me or when I need a flag, I’ll be there,” Fajardo said on Tuesday at the PSA forum, referring to Patrick Aquino, Gilila’s women’s head coach.
“I’m really playing to represent my country as much as I can.”
A seventeen-year-old guard who came to 12th grade and one year before Gill St. Bernard represented the Philippines in the Fiba Asia Under-18 3 × 3 tournament in Malaysia last year before going to college.
Fajardo along with Camille Clarin, Kristine Cayabyab and Angelica Surada won a bronze medal.
